WOODS MAINS a.c STABILISER

The WOODS MacS has been designed to provide a stable AC voltage output supply from within a varying input AC voltage range. The standard models of the MacS are meant for operation from a nominal 240Vac supply. These units will supply a stable 230Vas (+/- 3%) from a varying input range of 180Vac to 285Vac. The units will shutdown if the input exceeds 285Vac or if the output supply falls below 200Vac. The MacS incorporates micro-controlled electronic switching devices operating a multi-stage primary tapped power transformer with processor accuracy. The efficiency of a standard transformer is maintained with no waveform distortion even with the input voltage varying greatly.

DOMESTIC:
The management of remote area power supplies is greatly improved with the MacS providing safe stable power and giving security to motors and appliances in and around the house preventing fusion of electrical equipment. Old troublesome generators will have enhanced performances with the MacS greatly reducing its problems of fluctuating output.

COMMERCIAL:
Sensitive equipment on overloaded supplies in and out of peak times are made secure by fitting the MacS into the main power of the building. Brown-outs are minimised greatly reducing the risk of damage to voltage sensitive equipment. Great for long circuits and multiple loads, such as marinas and caravan parks where substantial voltage-drop occurs. Also for computer power supply where power stability is unreliable.

INDUSTRIAL:
Large industrial MacS units are also available. Three phase supply is managed by fitting three (3) MacS units connected in star (Y) configuration. The power ratings are added together. Each of the mains supply is monitored separately giving the ability of levelling the out-of-balance voltages even with unbalanced loads of bad power factor. Units of 100kVA and greater may be built to individual specifications.

WOODS is committed to meeting the highest possible safety standards and to independent testing and certification of our products

As displayed and the Hannover MESSE trade fair in 1999.

EMC Approved. Complies with AS/NZS 2064

POWER

  • 240V ac mains or generator supply - Compatible with either mains or generated ac. 110Vac units available by order.
  • 185Vac ~ 285Vac input variation - The MacS will supply a stable 240Vac (+/- 7.5Vac) across the wide input voltage range. This eliminates any dangers from fluctuating mains supplies, eg: brown-outs,  fusion, etc.
  • 100% THD tolerant - Regardless of the quality of the mains supply, the MacS will tolerate up to 100% Total Harmonic Distortion.
  • 1000VA units - 1kVA capacity make these units compatible in all domestic, rural, commercial, marine and other applications.
  • PROTECTION

  • Circuit breakers on input and output - Over current protection on both the mains input and the battery output is offered for immediate protection. The manual resettable swtich circuit type breakers are of industrial grade.
  • Temperature controlled fan cooling - The switching assembly is protected by an automatic thermoswitch. If the temperature rises above its preset level the fan will be enabled untill it has cooled the system to below its lower setting; thus disengaing the cooling fan. This extends the fans’ operating life.
  • Switching assembly over-temperature shutdown - The second temperature protection device is also on the switching assembly. If, due to severe loading or other fault, the temperature exceeds its level it will shut the MacS down untill the cooling fan brings the temperature back within safe operating levels.
  • Transformer over-temperature shutdown - The third temperature protection device is deep within core of the power transformer. Activation of this device indicates serious overheating and will shutdown operation of the MacS until the cooling fan brings the temperature back within safe operating levels.
  • CONTROL

  • Microprocessor controlled - Precise digital control is achieved using 16bit microprocessor. Deep thinking software constanly monitors all facets of the stablilising process using unique algorythms that ensure that the output voltage is maintained.
  • Noiseless switching assembly - Incorporating zero-crossing switching techniques the MacS provides noiseless operation and reliability.
  • DISPLAY

  • LED indication - Bright, labelled LED’s provide instant clear indication of the stabiliser status.
  • Metering - Accurate electronically driven analog moving-coil meters are not fitted as standard. But, they are large and easy-to-read and a favoured extra.
  • CABINET

  • Strong, durable, attractive - Powder-coated zinc-annealed steel cabinets.
  • Mountabilty - The MacS may be mounted anywhere its footprint allows. Usually on shelves, floors or benches adjacent to the application.
  • Portability - Due to the compactness of the cabinets, most MacS units are portable if needed.
  • CONNECTIONS

    • Mains Input - 2 metre cable fitted with standard Australian 3 pin 10A plug means the units is usable just about anywhere.
    • Mains Output - 2 of 3pin 10A standard Atsutralian GPO's are fitted for easy application on appliances.

    COMPLIANCE

  • Safety Standards - IEC33-2-29 (AS3350.2.29), IEC61558-1:1997 (AS/NZS61558.1:2000)
  • EMC Standads - EN55014 (CISPR14, AS1044), EN55022 (CISPR22, AS3548), EN50082-1
  • IP Rating - IP21
